Due to tall slender nature and locations of towers, overall structural robustness and the structural adequacy of individual members and connections of these structures are utmost important under all kinds of extreme events such as cyclones, earthquakes, etc.ÌýAccordingly, this study focuses on investigating the structural performances of self-supporting steel lattice towers under regional seismic loading conditions and development of a design guideline for baseplates with governing uplift load condition, where such a guideline is presently not available for industrial use. |

Development of a design guideline for baseplates was focused to fulfil the industrial need as the other main objective. An effective design guideline was developed through a comprehensive analytical and experimental study for design office applications.
