The MBA in e-GovernanceÌýprogrammeÌýof the ComputerÌýScience and Engineering Department, University ofÌýMoratuwaÌýenvisages supporting the public sectorÌýorganisationsÌýin theirÌýe-Government initiatives by providingÌýspecialisedÌýknowledgeÌýin IT, management and e-governance. This is the onlyÌýpostgraduate degreeÌýprogrammeÌýavailable in the Asian regionÌýthat leads to a Master of Business AdministrationÌýspecialisinginÌýe-Governance. The core curriculum of theÌýprogrammeÌýconsistsÌýof common management, e-governance and informationÌýtechnology subjects. A wide variety of electives is offeredÌýso that the students can strengthen their knowledge in specialÌýinterest areas. In addition to the subject modules, the studentsÌýreading for the MBA in e-Governance should carry out aÌýresearch project. The MBA in e-Governance is a six semesterÌý(two-year) part-time postgraduate degreeÌýprogramme. EachÌýsemester consists of 14 weeks of academic activities. LecturesÌýare held three week days in Colombo and on Saturdays at theÌýUniversity ofÌýMoratuwa.

Since its inception in 1985, the Department of ComputerÌýScience and Engineering (CSE) at the University ofÌýMoratuwaÌýhas played a leading role in producing highly skilledÌýengineering professionals who have spearheaded theÌýSri Lankan IT industry. At present, the Department conducts anÌýundergraduate engineering degreeÌýprogrammeÌýand threeÌýpostgraduate degreeÌýprogrammesÌýin theÌýfiÌýeldÌýof computerÌýscience and engineering. In addition, the Department alsoÌýoffers several short courses on topics ranging from basic
