MEng / PG Diploma in Energy Technology

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University ofÌýMoratuwaÌýconducts thisÌýprogramme. Teaching is carried out by ourÌýwell-experienced staff together with academics from otherÌýuniversities and institutions.ÌýTheÌýprogrammeÌýhas been designed to assist engineeringÌýgraduates who are looking for a career in the energy sectorÌýand enhance existing career prospects through part-time study.ÌýThisÌýprogrammeÌýconsists of a combination of compulsoryÌýmodules and optional modules and a research project. TheÌýresearch project is only available for studies towardsÌýMEng.ÌýAll lectures, practical sessions, presentations, industrial visits,Ìýand examinations will be conducted on Fridays and Saturdays.

Entry Requirements:

For PG Diploma

Ìý

The Degree of Bachelor of Science of Engineering of theÌýUniversity ofÌýMoratuwaÌýin Mechanical Engineering / MaterialsÌýScience and Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Electrical

Engineering;

OR

Any other engineering degree of at least four years of duration,Ìýfrom aÌýrecognisedÌýuniversity, in a relevantÌýfiÌýeldÌýofÌýspecialisationÌýas may be approved by the Senate;

OR

Any recognised category of membership of a recognisedÌýprofessional institute, obtained through an academic route, withÌýa minimum of one year ofÌýrecognisedÌýappropriate experience

obtained after the membership, as may be approved by theÌýSenate.ÌýEligibility For Master of EngineeringÌýThe award of the above postgraduate diploma in energyÌýtechnology with an overall GPA not less than 2.5
