MEng / PG Diploma in Water Resources Engineering and Management

TheÌýMScÌýprogrammeÌýgives individuals an opportunity toÌýdevelop their expertise in water resources engineering andÌýmanagement. TheÌýprogrammeÌýis conducted part-time, helpingÌýthe working professionals to gain further knowledge andÌýqualifications. Teaching is carried out by our well-experiencedÌýstaff together with academics from other universities andÌýinstitutions. Visiting lecturers from the industry are sometimesÌýinvited .

All lectures, practical sessions, presentations, industrial visitsÌýand examinations will be conducted on Fridays and Saturdays.ÌýThisÌýprogrammeconsists of a combination of compulsory coreÌýmodules, elective modules and a research project. The projectÌýis only available for studies towardsÌýMSc. Its main objective isÌýto provide training in techniques that are essential for researchÌýand problem solving in the industry.

Eligibility Requirements:

The Degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering of theÌýUniversity ofÌýMoratuwa, Sri Lanka in a relevantÌýfieldÌýwith aÌýminimum of one year relevant experience

OR

The Degree of Bachelor of Applied Science of the UniversityÌýof Sri Lanka, University ofÌýMoratuwaÌýin a relevantÌýfieldÌýwith aÌýminimum of one year of relevant experience

OR

Any other engineering degree in a relevant field as acceptedÌýby the Faculty, and equivalent to (a) above with a minimum ofÌýone year of relevant experience.

OR

At least the associate membership of aÌýrecognisedÌýprofessionalÌýengineering institute in a relevantÌýfieldÌýwith a minimum of twoÌýyears of appropriate experience

AND

If English is not the medium of instruction in the first degreeÌýof the candidate,ÌýTOEFLÌý(a minimum of 500 points inÌýpaperbased,Ìý173 in computer-based, or 61 in internet based test)ÌýorÌýIELTSÌý(a minimum of 5.0 in academic version) scores orÌýequivalent is required.

Note:ÌýQualifiÌýcationsÌýas determined by the Faculty andÌýapproved by the Senate, and valid experience to be afterÌýobtaining relevantÌýqualifications.
