MSc / PG Diploma in Telecommunication

The course targetsÌýpractisingÌýengineers who wish to buildÌýand advance their careers in theÌýfiÌýeldÌýof telecommunication,Ìýand also as a stepping stone for those who aspire to pursueÌýadvanced research in telecommunication. TheÌýMSc/PGÌýDiplomaÌýProgrammeÌýin Telecommunication is built around a setÌýof core course modules considered fundamental to a thoroughÌýunderstanding of the broadÌýfiÌýeldÌýof telecommunication, andÌýa set of elective course modules from a larger knowledgeÌýbase covering the realms of telecommunication engineeringÌýpractice. The course thus enables students to broaden theirÌýknowledge depending on the particular industry segment theyÌýare employed.

Ìý

The course also offers students wishing to embark on a researchÌýoriented career, a very good grounding as many courseÌýmodules have a strong research focus dealing with cutting-edgeÌýresearch in wireless communications and networks. A directedÌýstudy module prepares them for effective research at theÌýMScÌýlevel. Throughout theÌýprogramme, students have the opportunityÌýto study real world applications of theoretical concepts andÌýalgorithms. They conductÌýmodelling, design, analysis andÌýsimulation of different communication systems and networksÌýthrough a wide range of prominent software and hardwareÌýtools and platforms. In addition, industry-related projects areÌýcarried out by students at the PG diploma andÌýMScÌýlevels.ÌýThe students will choose a combination of elective modulesÌýalong with the core course modules based on their interest.
