Presentations at International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing (ICAISC) 2019

H.M. Ravindu T. Bandara, B.M.S.S. Basnayake and K.S. Priyanayana postgraduate research students of intelligent service robotics group, Department of Electrical Engineering, presented three research papers at 19th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing ICAISC 2019 held from 21-25th June in Mercure Zakopane Kasprowy Hotelm, Zakopane, Poland. 听The three papers titled 鈥淎 Conceptual Model to Improve Understanding of Distance Related Uncertain Information鈥, 鈥淓nhancing Cognitive Virtual Maps for Domestic Service Robots by Adapting the Users Perception on Uncertain Information Based on the Robot Experience: a Neural Network Approach鈥 and 听鈥淓nhancing Human-Robot Interaction by Amalgamating Spatial and Attribute Based Cognitive Maps of Assistive Robot鈥.

Intelligent Service Robotics group Present at IROS 2019

A work by the researchers from the Intelligent Service Robotics group- Department of Electrical Engineering, 成人头条 has been accepted at the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) 2019. IROS is a premier internal conference in the field of Robotics and it is in first 20 sources of Special category for Robotics in Google Scholar Metrics with h5 index of 58 . This year the conference will be held on November 4 - 8, in the Venetian Macao, Macau, China.听

The research is titled 鈥淪ituation-awareness for Proactive Robots in HRI鈥 and is authored by Chapa Sirithunge (PhD student), Ravindu Tharaka Bandara (Masters student), Dr. Buddhika Jayasekara and Dr. Chandima Pathirana. The article was about decision-making criteria developed for social robots to perceive the behavior of humans before initiating an interaction with them. This will be a chance for local researchers to share their experience with the experts through out the globe. It is worthy to note that this is the forth consecutive time a member from Intelligent Service Robotics Group presenting at IROS since 2016.听
