The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the Student Centre & Canteen Extension Building of the University ofÌýMoratuwaÌýwas held onÌý14thÌýAugust 2014. with the participation of the Chancellor of the UniversityÌýVidyaÌýJyothiÌýEmiritusÌýProfessor K.K.Y.W.Perera (Chief Guest), the Vice Chancellor Prof.ÌýAnandaÌýÌýJayawardena, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, the Bursar, other officials of the University and representatives of the State Engineering Corporation, the contractor of the project.
The estimated cost of the project is 57 Million rupees and the project is expected to be completed within 6 months. Once the project is completed, it will accommodate facilities for students to engage in co-academic activities.
