The High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Sandile Edwin Schalk visited the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ on 26th September 2022 and met the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. N.D. Gunawardena. Ms. René Everson-Varney, Counsellor: Political /Deputy High Commissioner accompanied the High Commissioner.

Discussions were focused on establishing mutually beneficial collaborations between the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ and the Higher Education Institutes in South Africa. The Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of South Africa has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the fields of Science and Technology. The activities organized between the universities in two countries may operate under this already signed MOU.
