Ch.QS. Indunil Seneviratne 听 Former Head of the Department |
Ch.QS. Indunil Seneviratne was the Head of the Department of Building Economics from year 2008 to year 2014. He is a product of the Department of Building Economics itself. Having completed his B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying in 1992, he joined the Department as an Assistant Lecturer and pursued a career as a promising academic until 1998. During December 1992 to December 1994 he had served as an External Collaborator (Quantity Surveying) for Institute of Construction Training and Development (ICTAD) Sri-Lanka now known as Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA). 听During this period he served as a member of the World Bank funded project in Developing the Sri-Lankan Standard Method of Measurement for Building Works SLS鈥573 of 1994.
After obtaining a M.Sc. in Construction Management at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ USA in 1998, Ch.QS. Indunil Seneviratne practiced as a Senior Cost Engineer in the cleanroom construction industry of USA for several years before rejoining the Department of Building Economics as a Senior Lecturer, in January 2003. He is currently attached to the Department of Building Economics, 成人头条 as a senior lecturer and as Senior Advisor to the Department. He was also the Course Director for PG. Dip/M.Sc. (Project Management) program conducted by the Department of Building Economics from 2003-2016. 听With the experience and knowledge he has gathered for over two decades of associations with USA and Sri Lankan Construction industries, as well as academia, Ch.QS. Indunil Seneviratne continues to support and direct the Department of Building Economics towards rewarding success.
Ch.QS. Indunil Seneviratne had been the Honorary Secretary, of Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Sri Lanka (IQSSL) from 2014-2016. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Sri Lanka and also the current Chairman of the Membership Affairs Board of IQSSL. 听
From 2006- To date 听 听he has been a Member of the Panel of Judges representing the Quantity Surveying Profession in the Construction Industry Development Authority鈥檚 (CIDA), 鈥淣ational Construction Excellence Award鈥 for the Construction Contractors of Sri Lanka. Currently he also serves as a Member of the 鈥淐REDENTIAL COMMITTEE鈥 of Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) representing IQSSL from September 2015 to date.
From January 2017, Ch.QS Indunil Seneviratne has gone on sabbatical leave from 成人头条 to provide leadership in starting and establishing a Quantity Surveying Department at the Engineering Faculty of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), the largest private higher education Institute in Sri Lanka. 听
His other interests include breeding tropical aquarium fish and philately. 听From March 2017 he serves as the President of the (PSSL)听as well as a member of the Philatelic Advisory committee of the Department of post Sri Lanka.
