The undergraduates of the 24 batch of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering participated in a First Aid Program conducted by the Faculty of Medicine, ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, on 30th October 2025. This training was facilitated by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU), ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, and coordinated by Ms. Dasuni De Silva.

The program strengthened students’ emergency preparedness by introducing essential first-aid principles and practical techniques required to manage a range of medical situations confidently and safely. The training covered a wide range of critical areas such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR; Heat Stress, Environmental Hazards and Choking; Chemical Exposure, Eye Injuries and Patient Transportation; Mechanical Injuries; Burns, Scalds and Electrocution; Applying Bandages and Slings; Falls, Slips and Head Injuries; Stress, Panic Management and Psychological First Aid; and Disaster Management and Triage.
Such initiatives play a vital role in preparing future engineers to uphold safety, responsibility, and professional competence in both academic and industrial environments.
