The Division of Environmental Engineering has a strongÌýresource base, and it is one of the leading groups ofÌýenvironmental management education in Sri Lanka. The aim ofÌýthis postgraduateÌýprogramÌýis to provide knowledge,Ìýtraining, and expertise in theÌýfieldÌýof environmentalÌýmanagement, pollution control (water, soil, air, noise, etc.), waterÌýand wastewater treatment principles, solid waste management,Ìýsustainable development, natural resource management, andÌýother relatedÌýfields. In addition to formal classroom-basedÌýactivities, theÌýprogramÌýincludes laboratory, andÌýfield-based studies, both individual and group work. LaboratoryÌýsessions mainly consist of testing for environmental parametersÌý(physical, chemical, and microbiological observations) andÌýwater and wastewater related practical sessions.
