The 6th Intake of the South Asian Water Resources Engineering and Management program completed

The UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Center for South Asia Water Management (UMCSAWM) at 成人头条 conducts the International/Regional MSc/PG Diploma in Water Resources Engineering and Management program in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering and South Asia Foundation (SAF). The program admits practising water engineers from the local industry as well as from the South Asian region. The 6th Intake (2020/2022) of the program recently concluded successfully included 12 local participants and 11 full鈥恡ime SAF scholars representing several South Asian countries.

Problem鈥恇ased learning (PBL) projects are the most significant part of this course which expose its participants to real-life water鈥恟elated problems and enable them to think critically and find open鈥恊nded solutions by applying various approaches. It also enhances the use of state of the art tools, skills of working in a team and develops a sense of collaboration and communication among students.听听

Field visits provide the opportunity for better insight into the study area, to learn practically, get familiar with different stakeholders鈥 concerns and finally preparing themselves for facing the challenges in the industry.听听

Each SAF scholar has conducted individual research (leading to MSc) related to various water-related issues either in Sri Lanka or in their home countries and of their interest which has been supervised by distinguished academics from the Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering Research Group of the Department of Civil Engineering, 成人头条.
