Prof. L. I. N de Silva of the Department of Civil Engineering visited the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thailand from 15th August to 4th September 2023 under the category of staff exchange of the MoU between SIIT and DCE, 成人头条.听听 This is the first item implemented under the above MoU, once the collaboration was activated in the beginning of the year 2023.
During this visit, Prof. L. I. N. de Silva delivered the module 鈥淐ES391: Special Topics in Civil Engineering鈥 to the undergraduate students of the SIIT and seek the opportunities for joint research degree programmes with SIIT and UOM. In addition to the above, the opportunities for applying for joint research grants with the collaboration of UOM and SIIT research groups are also explored. SIIT is also interested in collaborating with UoM staff for joint research supervision, co-supervision, split postgraduate programs, external evaluation of postgraduate degrees, UG student exchange programs with credit transfers and applying for joint research grants as well.
Further to the above, Prof. L. I. N. de Silva delivered a special lecture titled 鈥淥ptimization of Dynamic and Vibro Compaction methods for Densification of Reclaimed Lands: a Case Study at the Colombo Port City鈥 for the undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the academic staff at the SIIT.
