Civil Engineering Research Symposium is an annual symposium organised by the Department of Civil Engineering, ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ to showcase the latest research activities undertaken by undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department. A 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Challenge was featured for the first time in history of the Civil Engineering Research Symposium to demonstrate the latest research achievements of the postgraduate students in a creative manner.
3MT challenge has received over 25 submissions, of which the following eight students were shortlisted as finalists: Kannan Thushanthan, Nadeeshani Haggala, Nalaka Jayantha, Pasindu Meddage, Shankani Gunarathana, Sharon Gurupatham, Sivaraman Suloshini.
Four students won prizes for the best performance at the 3-Minute Thesis competition. The winners were, Pasindu Meddage (1st place), Ishan De Silva (1st runner-up), Nalaka Jayantha and Sharon Gurupatham (joint 2nd runner ups).
