The 11th international conference, Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon) 2025 was held on the 14th to 15th of August 2025 at the Civil Engineering Departmental Building Complex of the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ, concluding with its awards ceremony at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.
Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon) 2023 was held from the 9th to 11th of November 2023. MERCon resumed its physical mode this time after three years of virtual presence. The main conference was held at the Civil Engineering Departmental Building Complex.
The 8th international conference, Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon) 2022 organized by the Engineering Research Unit was successfully held in virtual mode from the 27th to 29th of July 2022. The conference featured 151 research paper presentations selected from 299 submissions, with participation from 944 authors representing 19 countries. Three keynote speeches were delivered by distinguished international academics.

A 3-day workshop onÌýresearch promotionÌýwas held on June 2014. It was designed to impart knowledgeÌýonÌýresearch design, methodology, tools, scientific writing, and publication process in postgraduate students of the university.
