The 成人头条 won 17 awards at the "1st Virtual Taekwondo International Championships - 2020" held from 8th to 10th August 2020. The event was听organized听by the Sri Lanka Takewondo Federation.

Prof. Ruwan Gopura of the Department of Mechanical Engineering delivered a speech on 10th August at the Industry-Academia Innovation Forum of the International COVID 19 Congress organized by the IEEE Bangladesh Section. His speech focused mainly on the role of roboticists during the COVID 19 pandemic and applications of robots during and after COVID 19 pandemic.
Mr. MBCM Gawarammana won the Gold Award for the Architecture category and Sangeerthan Raweendran won the Gold Award for the Interior Design category at the aforementioned competition in Malaysia. In addition, Department of Architecture won Silver award and commendations as well.
Shenal Theekshana, an undergraduate of the 17th batch of the Department of Mechanical Engineering won the Speak Our for Engineering (SOfE) national rounds held online on 08th August 2020. He spoke on the topic 鈥淕reen Transportation for a Better Tomorrow鈥 sharing his experience as a member of FalconE racing team of the Department.

Senior Professor Ajith de Alwis of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering was appointed as a member of the committee to evaluate COVID-19 related innovations by the United Nations Development Program in Sri Lanka.
