Expose Forum 2013 will be held on JanuaryÌý10th, 2014 at theÌýBMICHÌýfor theÌý3rdÌýconsecutive time. Organized by the E-Club, the official student body of the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University ofÌýMoratuwa, the forum aims in bridging up the gap between the industry and academia in Sri Lanka.

The Electrical Engineering Society (EESoc) established in 1994, is the social arm of Department of Electrical Engineering of the University ofÌýMoratuwa, and serves as a forum for academia, professionals and students. One of the main events of theÌýEESocÌýis a panel discussion held annually for more than a decade, on a burning issue related to the profession of electrical engineering, with the participation of an eminent panel of professionals, to share information with the undergraduates, professionals and the general public.

Road Safety and ITS laboratory was initially set up with funding received from World Health Organization (WHO).Currently,ÌýUOMÌýhas undertaken improving the accident database of Sri Lanka inÌýcollaboration with the Police and through funding received from WHO.

The ceremony was held onÌý9thÌýJune at 10:00 am, with Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof.ÌýRahulaÌýAttalageÌýas the Chief Guest and Mr.ÌýAshokaSiriwardena, Managing DirectorÌýBitumixÌý(Pvt.) Ltd. and Mr.ÌýGaminiÌýEkanayaka, Chairman, National Council for Road Safety attended and Prof. U.G.A.ÌýPuswewalla, Dean, Faculty of Engineering as Guest ofÌýHonour.

The Faculty of IT students showcased their talents at the Future Minds 2014 exhibition which took place at BMICH from 6th to 8th June 2014. Future Minds is an annual event organized by the Old boys' association of Nalanda College, Colombo and was held for the 9th consecutive year in 2014.

The University ofÌýMoratuwaÌý(UOM) held itsÌý34thÌýconvocation on July 31,Ìý2013atÌýtheÌýBandaranaikeÌýMemorial InternationalÌýConference Hall (BMICH)Ìýand conferred 1096 BachelorÌýDegrees, 356 PostgraduateÌýDiplomas, degrees and otherÌýawards including fourÌýPhDsÌýand fiveÌýMPhils.

The foundation stone laying ceremony of Phase Three Design Building for the Integrated Design Department at ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ was held on 30th June 2014 at the auspicious time 11.00 am. The Chancellor Professor Emeritus K.K.Y.W.Perera , Vice Chancellor Prof. Ananda ÌýJayawardhana,

Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Charles Darwin University Professor Sharon Bell visited the University ofÌýMoratuwaÌýon JulyÌý4thÌý2014 and discussed certain areas of mutual importance to both Universities.
